Hilton Head Island is located just off the coast of South Carolina, approximately 45
minutes from Savannah Georgia. The Island is 12 miles long and 5 miles wide and is widely
acclaimed as one of the great sports and recreational destinations. The Hilton Resort is
located oceanside next to 12 miles of sandy beaches. Inland you will find creeks, lagoons
and forests and an abundance of wildlife. October is a wonderful time to be in the low
country of South Carolina. The crowds have gone and the weather is wonderful!

Both speakers are going to discuss management of the most common problems that they
encounter in in their private behavior practices. This
course will present a practical approach to the diagnosis and management of
these common problems using a combination of didactic and case-based teaching.
Dr. Jacqui Neilson is one of the leading experts in the field of small animal
behavior. She has published extensively in all the major journals & texts
and lectures frequently for IVS and the other major veterinary conferences.
Jacqui's practice is in Portland OR.
Dr. Debra Horwitz received her DVM from Michigan State University College of
Veterinary Medicine. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary
Behaviorists and is currently its president. Dr. Horwitz has had a referral
practice for behavioral problems in companion animals since 1982 and presently
her behavioral practice is located in St. Louis, Missouri.
Debbie and Jacqui co-authored Blackwell's Five-Minute Veterinary Consult
Clinical Companion: Canine and Feline Behavior. Both speakers have lectured at the regional and national meetings and have
promised me that the seminars have been structured to maximize the material
that you will take with you to your practice.

common presenting clinical complaint. Fighting
between dogs in the same household and
aggression towards unfamiliar dogs encountered
on walks seems to be on the rise. We will
examine the typical motivations behind interdog
aggression and provide practical and helpful
interventions.
